The 1st of October marks World Vegetarian Day – A day intended to entice people to ditch the bacon and learn about the many promises of plant-based and other meat-free diets.
Going meat-free has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cancer. On top of this, you will also be doing your bit for the environment and reducing your carbon footprint, as a high percentage of greenhouse gases are associated with the production of meat.
It all sounds rather persuasive, but people can stillfind it difficult to jump ship completely.
The answer…is ‘flexitarianism‘. Around since the 90s, the idea has recently picked up speed. It’s all about becoming more adventurous and going veggie when you can. Then you can explore the joys that plant-based eating has to offer, and regularly cut down on all of that meat (thereby helping the planet a bit), without feeling it has to be forever.
You’ll reap many benefits of the lifestyle change, and have the opportunity to open up a whole new world of flavours and choices to tickle your taste buds.
Our range of hand-crafted vegetarian and vegan products make it easy. Bursting with flavours from around the world, there are colourful and inventive recipes designed to give you a wide (and tasty) variety to choose from.
We look to keep everyone happy, with a mix of options including a simple swap that feels familiar, by mimicking meat – the Vegan Sausage sandwich. A firm favourite with fans, it comes with a sweet red onion chutney and lettuce on malted grain bread. Simple, to the point, but delicious.
We also have a wholly plant-based selections that will allow you to broaden your senses and try something new. A rather delicious example of this is our Big Bombay Bhaji Wrap. Filled with onion bhaji and Bombay potatoes, complimented by sweet mango chutney and a slightly spicy madras veganaise, this hearty wrap will transport you across the world with its aromatic flavours.
